A financial investor manager with excellent instincts and more than 15 years of experience, Dipak Patel most recently held responsibilities as a Portfolio Manager at Sigma Capital, an affiliate of SAC Capital. During his nine-year tenure at SAC Capital, Dipak Patel’s duties included overseeing a team of seven investment professionals. Primarily, he managed a multi-strategy portfolio with a focus on telecommunications, media, and technology which he expanded to other sectors such as industrial and financial investments. Founded in 1992 by investment expert Steven A. Cohen, the firm maintains several subsidiaries, including Sigma Capital.

Prior to managing a portfolio at Sigma, Mr. Patel was the youngest partner at Cumberland Associates. He served the firm from 1996 through 2002, starting out as an Analyst and graduating to the role of a Portfolio Manager within only two years. Alongside his Cumberland colleagues, Mr. Patel oversaw client-focused portfolios and invested in public equity, hedging markets, and fixed income. He secured his first investment position after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994, when he joined McKinsey & Company as an Analyst. McKinsey, a global management consulting firm, is viewed by many as one of the foremost advisors to the world’s governments and businesses. As SAC Capital and Cumberland, Patel enjoyed a consistently successful track record of superior performance.

Today, Dipak Patel continues to use the knowledge he gained at SAC Capital, and he continues to follow various markets, stocks, companies, and funds closely. Apple Computer, Inc., the pioneer of some of the world’s most popular and influential technologies, remains a favorite investment of his due to the company’s growing share of the personal computer market and its dominance in areas such as smartphones and tablets.
